To combat the Bay Area housing crisis, the City of Oakland is granting tax benefits to residents adding ADUs to their properties. In the final brief for an Interior Architecture class students were asked to add and/or redesign existing garages on Oakland properties into an ADU. The home and unit here exist independent of each other, and the poster (originally printed) below details plans, section, exploded isometric, and interior/exterior renderings.
